Facilities at the Port of Larne

The Port of Larne is one of the premier ferry ports in Ireland, operating up to 32 sailings 24 hours per day.   By the close of 2006 - 865,535 passengers, 424,468 commercial vehicles and 207,198 tourist cars passed through the port.

At Port of Larne, we pride ourselves in the service we offer to our customers. Through a sustained investment programme, we continue to develop our facilities and customer relationships. The Port of Larne is the ideal port to facilitate cruise ships. We are fully equipped to meet the needs of the Owners and Operators and can provide full check-in, baggage handling and transfer facilities for passengers and are fully accredited and meet ISPS standards for port security.

In April 2004, the Port of Larne welcomed its first ever cruise ship. Nearly 400 passengers joined the “Funchal” at the Port of Larne on 20th April to embark on an 11-night cruise visiting Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar and Morocco before returning to Larne on 1st May. Since then we have played host to a number of cruise ships and are confident that our port is an ideal location for further cruise visits.

For guests wishing to stay in Larne before departing on their cruise, they can find out further information at www.larne.gov.uk or the local Tourist Information office on 028 2826 0088.
